The Class Cup was introduced at the beginning of the year. For each grade, students have the opportunity to participate in various activities throughout the year. Now that it is the end of September, grade levels have already competed in multiple activities.
In August, Students participated in three events. An attendance war took place during the week of August 25-29, with the seventh-grade class emerging victorious. SEL Class Badges was also an activity, with the ninth-grade class taking first place. The last activity in August was School Spirit Purple Power and cheer block for the Orange Bowl, with the senior class taking victory.
In September, Students also participated in three more events. The first challenge was the Amazing Race, one of the half-day activities, which the Junior class won. Another challenge in September was the Tardy War, with the seventh grade winning again. The last competition of September was school spirit during the West Washington football game, with the senior class winning another competition.
The standing scores are as follows: the freshman class in last place; a tie between the eighth grade class, the sophomore class, and the junior class for third place; the senior class in second place; and the seventh grade class in first place.
“I look forward to it being a huge focus in the second semester as we start to see a finish line in view,” said Assistant Principal Adam Stroud.
In October, classes could earn points in at least three categories: the National Bullying Prevention Month, the Red Ribbon Week drug prevention week, and the West Washington game for the volleyball team’s school spirit.
