On March 19 at 10 a.m., PHS will be hosting the Court of Appeals oral argument in the auditorium. Only juniors and seniors will be allowed to attend and the convocation will last approximately one hour and thirty minutes.
The event will help to show how the court system works. The event will include three judges, a bailiff, two attorneys and one Indiana State trooper for security. The group will be performing a mock trial. Following the mock trial, there will be a Question and Answers session about the law, justice and the judiciary system conducted by the judges.
“It’s going to be a good opportunity for our students to witness part of our state government in action,” said U.S. History teacher Chris Lindley.
The purpose of the convocation is to give students an idea of what the State Court of Appeals does.
