The Paoli Rams Varsity Football team will open up their season Friday night, August 22, at 8:00 p.m, hosting the Brownstown Central Braves at Cook Field. The game was moved back to 8:00 p.m. do to weather and high temperatures. The Rams are coming off a successful season last year with a Regional Championship and a strong 11-3 record. The Rams enter the season ranked ninth in the 2A preseason poll.
“This is the toughest season opening opponent Paoli has had in a long time,” said head coach Brian Balsmeyer.
That opponent, Brownstown, is another very strong team coming off of a great season last year with a 12-1 record and a successful post-season run to the Regional Final. The Braves enter this season ranked sixth in the 3A preseason poll.
The Rams come into this game with something to prove after the loss of such a successful senior class this is their big chance to prove themselves. Brownstown has a very experienced team returning almost all of their skill players and very confident team.
The team hope the fans come out to support them in their season opener.
