October 13 will be the PHS Service Day, where students take a day from school to help with something throughout the community. Junior High math teacher Kyle Chase will be going to the Orange County Center for Women’s Ministry.
“We will be doing some painting in their building, as well as helping them out with a fundraiser, which is selling gently used purses,” said Chase.
While each service day project has a goal to make something in the community better or benefit it, Chase sees more potential.
“I am looking forward to seeing their interpersonal skills as well as their painting skills! I hope that students will leave there with an appreciation for the ministry, which they probably didn’t even know existed in our community. And most of all, I hope they have a sense of satisfaction in serving others, which will transcend beyond the day,” said Chase.
