In small town school life, athletics and sports often dominate the public conversation. In the case of PHS, the football and baseball programs have been put in a situation where the search is on for a new head coach.
As the school starts this transitional period, many student athletes are following intently to see how their sport will be affected. The balance of their team hangs on these decisions as well as the potential success or failure of their season.
The first process of this period is the application and interview process. Interviews for both the football and baseball head coaching job are taking place as of now.
At this stage, there are over ten applicants for the football position, and one for the baseball job. The interview process will continue on through this week, with final decisions aimed to be made at the school board meeting in early February. These decisions will be heavily thought out and followed by the student body.
