In February, JAG students will be traveling to Ivy Tech Bloomington for the Career Development Conference to compete in contests against other JAG chapters in Region 8. The conference takes place every year, and 16 students in Paoli’s chapter will be attending.
The purpose of this event is to encourage healthy competition and to have fun. During the competition, students will have to use critical thinking, employability skills and dedication. They will also need to come up with creative solutions to problems. First, second and third place in the region win cash prizes. Students that win first place will move on to the State competition in March, which takes place in Indianapolis.
“I hope students win! It is not only a healthy competition between students but between JAG Specialists from each school too. But honestly, I hope they develop a new sense of accomplishment and perseverance. I want the students to know that hard work pays off. They will also meet new people and hopefully make some new friendships” said JAG teacher Katie Cook.
