Plant Removal at Windsor Manor Apartments
October 3, 2016
Service day is coming up in October and good deeds will begin to take place. English teacher Loretta Brown begins her service day planning with a unique project. Brown will be taking a group of students to Windsor Manor Apartments to pull flowers for elderly residents who have trouble doing physical labor.
“It is a requirement of the facility to have this job accomplished before winter,” said Brown. “My group will help those who struggle getting down to pull out the plants.”
Service day is an important time to affect the lives of citizens of our community and make a difference. Helping the elders in our county is a great beginning.
“It teaches kids there are people who struggle and need services. Many services wouldn’t be possible without the help of the volunteers,” said Brown.
