Being a part of different clubs is something that is very popular at PHS. Going down the hallways and looking around, it is quickly noticeable that the student body is involved.

For Senior Lexy Underhill, her involvement began during her freshman year. She has been involved in several clubs throughout her high school years, including Student Council, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and Booster Club. But since the beginning, she has been actively involved in Spanish Club.

“My favorite part about Spanish Club is being able to come together with my classmates and do spanish like activities,” said Underhill. “I am secretary this year, which is a big accomplishment for me. I keep track of when we meet and what ideas we come up with and what to do.”

Once a semester, the group gathers during homeroom to do different activities and takes a trip to one of the local Mexican restaurants, El Compadre. In order to be in the club, you have to bring in five canned goods for the local food pantry.

After graduating high school, Underhill plans to attend University of Southern Indiana or Manchester University to get a degree in Pharmacy and possibly a minor in Spanish.

Underhill chose to pursue pharmacy because growing up, she watched her mom work in the medical field and wanted to follow in her footsteps. She wants to help people get well, improve their quality of life and be a member of a team.
