Cross Country Kicking Off the Season!

Varsity cross country kicked off their season on August 19 at Orleans high school.  Leading the girls were freshman Ali Kerby at first place, sophomore Avery Rogers placed third, freshman KC Warren at fourth, senior Kylene Baker at fifth and junior Abi Andis placed sixth place.

The girls beat Orleans.

Junior Blake Rogers led the boys team with a fourth place finish. Behind Roberts were sophomore Blake Terrell at fifth, freshmen Hunter Hamilton got tenth place, sophomore Will Stroud was at eighteenth, and freshmen Jacob Babcock followed directly behind Stroud at nineteenth.

The boys put up a great race against some tough competition but were not victorious, they came in second to Orleans.

¨I feel like the times were good for the first meet and considering how hot it was. I think have a lot of strong runners that will continue to improve on a weekly basis,¨ said coach Summer Hudelson.

The first home cross country meet is Thursday, August 28. Come out and cheer on the team!

Junior High Football Team Faces Perry Central Next Week!

The junior high football team will go against Perry Central next week at 6 p.m. Perry Central could potentially have the advantage since it’s a home field game. Paoli’s first challenge was the Springs Valley Blackhawks with the Rams triumphing with both seventh and eighth grade. All coaches were impressed, especially considering this time last season, the seventh grade had only won two games. The eighth grade had an undefeated streak.

“Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard,” said head coach Adam Stroud.

To Stroud and all of the other coaches, this quotes fires up some inspiration before every game. The Perry Central Commodores  and Paoli Rams will be an interesting game to see from kickoff.
