Archery season is quickly ramping up with the qualifying tournament for the State competition right around the corner. The qualifier will be held at North Harrison Elementary School on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25.

To prepare for the event, the team is reviewing how to fill in a scorecard in order to properly keep score, as this is many archers’ first time shooting at a tournament. The junior high and high school teams will compete in several flights throughout the day.

“The ultimate goal is to get our elementary and junior high teams a great start with experience and personal successes. This will feed into success for the teams as they progress into the older division. Our high school team is made up of many highly experienced archers. It is just a matter of them putting their best attempt forward that day which I am confident they can do,” said archery coach Kyle Woolston.

If the team reaches a set score at their qualifier, they will advance to the state competition, which will be held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on March 14.
