After a meet cancellation Tuesday, the Lady Ram’s golf team will step on the course tomorrow to face the Wolfpack at Crawford County starting at 4:30 p.m.

Head Coach Brad Bledsoe reflects on last season.

“We struggled at times last season. We would play well at times while at other times we played not so well. Hannah (Woolston) and Avery (Crews) came in as freshmen last year and really helped us out.”

Last season the Lady Rams graduated two seniors, Hayley Taylor and Corrine Magner.

The Rams finished sixth during sectionals last year. Winners of the award given out last year are all returning, including MVP Serenity Sweet.

This year the Lady Ram’s are lead by seniors Sweet and Ryleigh Anderson. Anderson is a first time golfer, yet Bledsoe is thrilled to have her added to the roster.

“What she lacks in experience she makes up in leadership and I am happy having her come out for the team. I just hope she doesn’t get too discouraged,” said Bledsoe.

When asked about her addition to the team, Anderson expresses her excitement.

“I am excited to gain a new experience especially during my senior year. I like my team and I am glad to have the opportunity to play with them,” said Anderson.

Sweet is expected to lead the team this year, as it is her fourth year as a member of the team.

“I expect good things from her. She has played quite a bit this summer and seems ready to go. I don’t want to put any pressure on her this season but she will definitely lead the way for us,” said Bledsoe.

Sweet spent her summer getting ready for this season.

“I think that I will be a good leader to the rest of the team this year because I’ve put in extra effort over the summer getting lessons, playing on new courses, and hitting tons and tons of balls at the range,” said Sweet.

This years roster includes: seniors Anderson and Sweet, sophomores Crews and Woolston, and freshman Alivia Sweet.

Bledsoe gives insight on his goals and aspirations for this season.

“As for goals this season, they are like any other season. I want each of the girls to show improvement throughout the season and have them playing their best golf heading into sectional play. I am hoping we have a PLAC match this season and if we do, it would be nice to win and to get several girls on the all conference team. We also want to play to the best of our ability in the sectional and advance as a team to the regional. If we can’t advance as a team then I hope to get a couple of individual girls to qualify as individuals for the regional. I am ready to get the season underway!”
