Rams Net Big Win to Start Off Season

The Rams Boys Tennis team traveled to Salem in an opener game. The Rams won 4-1.
Head Coach Matt Wolfe expresses his thoughts after their game.
“It was a great start to our season beating a very solid Salem team,” said Wolfe.

Winning matches for the Rams were:
Number one singles Isaac Cornett-McBride defeated Holden Collins, 6-2 6-1.
“I feel like the team did very well for our first match of the season, everyone played hard and competed well,” said Cornett-McBride.

Number two singles Raygar Minton defeated Saywer Davis, 6-1 6-0.
Number three singles Lucus Stroud defeated Japheth Webb, 6-1 6-1.
Number one doubles Treyvin Street and William Milner lost toCam Albertson and Jacob Rose, 3-6 3-6.
Number two doubles Kirk Hughes and Matteo Sambruni defeated Nick Ingram and Hunter Trainor, 6-1 6-2.

“ [I think we did] pretty good but there is always room for improvement,” said Hughes.
Wolfe praises his team for being able to get over their nerves.
“The boys had some nerves to start the match but battled through them well and were able to get the job done tonight for us! We are now 1-0,” said Wolfe.

The JV team also defeated Salem, 3-0.
Wolfe congratulates them on their first win.
“The Jv handled their business tonight and had a strong showing. Very proud of them. They are now 1-0,” said Wolfe
Winning matches for the Rams were:
Number one doubles Chad Sullivan and Dakota Mousty defeated Connar Davidson and Jacob Heightchew, 8-0.
Number one singles Josh Zapien defeated Jacob Heightchew, 6-0.
Number two singles Charlie Higgins defeated Connar Davidson, 6-0.
