Last Thursday, on September 8, the PHS Drama Club held auditions and casting for the musical, Fiddler on the Roof Junior. Although many tried out, the cast list was announced the following Friday. The cast will have rehearsals every night after school until 6 in order to prepare to put the show on stage from October 20-22.

Taking the lead role, senior Adin Monroe will be playing Tevye, who is a poor dairy farmer in pre-revolutionary Russia. His wife, Golde, will be played by fellow Isabell Shipman. The couple will play matchmaker throughout the production for their daughters; who will be played by eighth graders Cheyenne Carter and Piper Frank and sophomores Mary Cook and Lilyanna Beaty.

“I’m excited to have a character that interacts with the audience more than my other characters have. Tevye, my character, has a very wide range of emotions that I am excited to use in order to give the audience a very captivating performance,” said Monroe.

Some of the other roles include: Perchik played by senior A.J. Lopez, Fyedka played by junior Dyson Nichols, Constable played by seventh grader Havoc Nichols, Bielke played by eighth grader Sophie Holliday, Yente played by senior Mia Stroud, Motel’s Mother played by senior Nova Nichols, and the Fiddler played by senior Ella Sims.
