Rams Win Game One; Game Two Tonight

On October 21, the Rams defeated Mitchell in the first round of football sectional. The Rams won with a final score of 47-26.

This year’s team was senior strong, being made up of 10 seniors.

“We did a nice job of starting fast. We played physical and were able to come away with a win. Excited for our guys to be able to play another week!” said Varsity Head Coach Neil Dittmer. The boys are now lined up to play North Posey tonight, kick off time 7:30 p.m.

“Friday night will be a tough game against a very good North Posey team. If we focus on ourselves, pursuing perfection every single play, we will be in a good position to win at the end of the game.” said Dittmer. Moving back to the regular season, both varsity and junior varsity ended with winning records. Varsity’s season record was 6-3, and junior varsity’s was 4-3. This year’s team was senior strong, being made up of 10 seniors. Those seniors are Austin Benales, Brandon Cook, Braxton Elliott, Braydon Hayes, Marty Higgins, Camron Meehan, Max Newkirk, Chris Nunez, Brice Robbins and Nolan Walker.

“I am proud of this season because the guys battled through adversity with all the injuries to have a successful season,” said Benales.

Benales is one of the team’s captains who has played a large role in this season’s success. Looking back, one of the big games for the Rams was against Eastern Greene.

As a whole, the team had 566 rushing yards, junior Trey Rominger contributing 276 of that. Junior high’s season came to an end on October 6. Eighth grade’s final record was 4-4, and seventh grade was 3-5.
