One of the new foreign exchange students this year is sophomore Louise Favre. Favre came to Paoli from France and will be staying with Spanish Teacher Crystal Shellenberger and her family for the next 10 months.
Favre commented on the many differences between France and the U.S. For example, in France, school starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 6 p.m. She has nine one-hour-long classes to take each day. Favre also noted that her classes are not the same each day.
Favre was born and raised in Burgundy, France with her mother, father, and younger brother. The food is also quite a bit different from that of American schools.
“The food is very different. In France, they grow and raise food locally. Then cook it for the school lunches,” said Favre.
While in America, Favre wishes to learn more about American culture, improve her English, and have lots of fun in the short time she will be here.
