Post-Prom Committee is hosting another 5K run or walk to raise money for Prom events.

“I absolutely hate to ask students to sell stuff and because we wanted to raise money for the Post-Prom Committee to start with, we decided this would be a quick and easy way to go about it,” said Librarian, and event sponsor, Brenda Eubank.

The run will be held Saturday, December 7, at 9 a.m. at the Paoli Community Park. Registration forms are available from the school website. Forms have to be turned in to the school by November 26.

“I would like to have at least 25 participants, but the more the merrier and more profitable,” said Eubank.

The $10 fee is due with the registration form. The first 50 people to register will get an ugly tie to add to the running attire. Runners can buy an ugly sweater or buy any random sweater and decorate it as “Christmas-y” to get the more ugly look.

“There are two first place medals, but they will go to the first male and female to finish the 5K.  We thought about a prize for the ugliest sweater, but degree of ugliness is so subjective, we didn’t want anyone to feel slighted.  We will give the first 50 an ugly tie though, so that’s kind of like a participation trophy for everyone,” said Eubank.
