Basketball season ended in early March for most of the Rams, however for a select few, basketball has continued.

Continuing after the 2022-23 season, senior Jackie Crews was selected to play in the HBCA All-Star game on April 16. She was selected along with 23 other seniors from Indiana.

“It was a cool experience to play with old friends for the last time before I head to college,” said Crews.

For the rest of the players, they started their seasons early with some pretty big AAU tournaments.

Freshmen Chad Sullivan and Coen Brace play on the travel team named DISTINXION and they competed in an AAU tourney called The Showdown on April 22-23. The team took first place in the freshman age division. This was the first tournament they have played in and they will be playing next on May 6-7.

“It makes me a better team player being able to play with different teammates and it makes me better skill wise because I’m playing against guys who truly care about basketball,” said Brace.

Sophomore basketball player Fletcher Cole competed in his first AAU event of the year, called the “Adidas Gauntlet” which took place on April 21-23. Cole had to travel to Nebraska for the first part, and will continue with the event for the next few weeks. The rest of the tournament will take place on July 5-9 in South Carolina.

“Playing with this team makes me a better player with the tough competition and prepares me for college,” said Cole
