The annual PHS Blood Drive was hosted on October 24. The FCCLA hosted the drive this year, and FCCLA members played a crucial role in making the event a success. The American Red Cross partnered with the students and PHS staff to draw the blood.
“I worked the booth because I love Mrs. Manship and I thought it would be a really good deed,” said Junior Kina Arsenault.
The drive had 50 combined staff and students sign up to participate. Twenty-seven students and staff members attended the event to donate blood.
“It went really well, our students were very kind and respectful. The Red Cross representatives even complimented the students and staff by stating that PHS is one of the best and most respectful high schools they have gone to,” said FCCLA sponsor Danelle Manship.
The drive has been ongoing for multiple years and will continue to be hosted at PHS for several years. The blood drive is not just a one-time thing; there will be a second drive held on March 31.
“I will be releasing more information closer to this date and hope everyone will return for another successful blood drive hosted by the FCCLA,” said Manship.
