Around this time of year, people start thinking about what to get their kids for Christmas. However, some parents are not able to get their kids presents due to finances. The Angel Tree Program helps those parents by giving them presents on Christmas. This program is run by SCICR Family Consultant Jodi Henry.
Henry starts her Angel Tree journey by getting referrals from the school staff. If you were to try to get on the Angel Tree list, you would have to talk to either a teacher or go to Henry herself. She is able to put people on the list if she sees something about it on social media as well.
People can donate to the Angel Tree program in multiple ways, including taking an angel, making monetary donations, and donating money to an angel or sponsor. Donations are welcome at any point until December 25.
The pick up of the gifts is on December 16 and 17. Gifts are due back from sponsors on December 15.
SCICR (South Central Indiana Community Resources) specializes in Juvenile Delinquency Prevention, Youth and Family Intervention Services, and Intensive Case Management, and runs the Angel Tree Program.
