This year, the Student Council will hold the Winter Homecoming crowning on Friday, January 16. The crowning ceremony will take place before the start of the Varsity Boys’ Basketball game in the high school upper gym. Following the game, the Student Council will host a dance in the high school cafeteria.
In the weeks leading up to this crowning, high school students could nominate peers in their grade for the homecoming court. Then, they were able to vote from a list of possible candidates for king and queen. The king and queen will be announced after the whole court has been announced.
The list of king candidates consists of seniors Kirkland Hughes, Cooper Spires, Treighlin Minton, Colton Baechle, and Kade Walls.

The queen candidates include seniors Tariana Burkhead, Ava Hall, Alyssa Henry, Maddie Vernon, and Libby Newkirk.
The prince and princess nominations are juniors Colton Henderson and Kylee Blackwell, sophomores Owen Lewellyn and Hannah Jones, and freshmen Carter Vernon and Lily Chavez.
The basketball game starts at 6 p.m and it follows the homecoming crowning. Anyone can attend the game and just watch the crowning, or you can stay and watch the games too. It is free for students to get in, but $7 for everyone else.
