This month, Team OC is hosting two conference events for seventh, eighth, and freshman girls and boys: a Girls Empowerment Field Trip and a Boys Empowerment Field Trip. Both events will be at the French Lick Resort and will focus on equipping students with tools, confidence, and support systems they can use beyond the day of the event.
“Ultimately, our goal is not just to host an event, but to spark long-term growth. We want students to leave knowing they matter, they have purpose, and they have a community standing behind them,” said Priscilla Woodrum, the Executive Director of Team OC.
Other Goals Woodrum has include: Strengthen youth confidence and decision-making skills, promote healthy relationships and respect for self and others, connect students with mentors and trusted adults, address social determinants that impact youth outcomes, create safe spaces where young people feel heard and supported, reduce risk factors related to unhealthy behaviors through proactive education, inspire leadership and service within Orange County and surrounding communities.
The girls’ trip is on Tuesday, March 10, and will last the whole school day. The boys’ conference will be on Tuesday, March 31.
Permission slips for this event should have been turned in on February 9.
