PHS held its annual pig sale on Sunday, March 8, 2026. The doors opened at 11 a.m, and it was over by 2:45 p.m. By 4 p.m., all of the pigs that were sold were out of the school and on their way to their new homes. Animal Science teacher Cory Scott was in charge of this event and made sure everything went smoothly, along with help from students and volunteers.
There were many weeks of planning and preparation that went into this sale. A week before the event, they put all of their planning together so that they could put on a successful event. Over 50 families from across Indiana attended, and the sale was very successful. This year, 88 pigs were sold. Scott and the students were very happy with how it turned out and the positive feedback that they received from attendees about the quality of the pigs and the hospitality of the students and families.
“It has been our best year yet. Every year we are met with new challenges, and every year we overcome and adjust to find even more success. We want to wish all the families luck with their projects this summer and look forward to hearing about their winnings. We are also looking forward to next year, as plans are already being made,” said Scott.
This event will be held again next year, and there are many ways to get involved. For more information or for questions, please contact Scott or animal science students who participate with the pigs.
