Culinary arts teacher Debbie Andry and her students are hosting a coffee bar outside of her classroom, room 214, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday throughout the winter months. Hot chocolate and coffee are both $1 each, and they will be sold from 7:50 a.m. to 8:10 a.m.
“The idea of a coffee bar was formulated two years ago. We did not run the coffee bar last year but have decided to start the program again this school year,” said Andry.
To go along with the hot chocolate and coffee, they will have a variety of condiments, including hazelnut, original, pumpkin spice, and french vanilla creamer. There will be sugar for the coffee and marshmallows for the hot chocolate, and all proceeds will go to field trips for Mrs. Andry’s cooking classes.
“The coffee bar is a fun way for our culinary classes to earn their field trip money. Selling coffee and hot chocolate is our fundraiser,” said Junior Tessa Robbins.
One field trip that the money will go to is Sullivan University to see their culinary program. They also plan on visiting their bakery and to have a fine dining experience during the school year.
Purchasing just one coffee or hot chocolate will help the culinary classes at PHS, so warm up this season and buy some beverages!
