NHS Cleans Up with Fundraiser

National Honor Society, a club dedicated to service that recognizes students’ academic performance, hosted a soap fundraiser. Students sold laundry detergents in various scents, dishwasher pods, shampoo, conditioner and body wash to the community.

“NHS helps students directly by purchasing clothing, sports equipment, helped with costs of events for individual students as well as helped with donations to other school groups,” said NHS sponsor Melissa Higgins.

The money raised will help fund the end of the year trip for juniors and seniors, senior scholarships and other things the National Honor Society is involved in. Along with students in the club, NHS also uses money to help other students at PHS.

Due to the success of the fundraiser this year, NHS plans to continue hosting it in future years.

“This was our first year with this fundraiser, I would consider it a success and I hope we continue to raise more money each year for NHS,” said Higgins.

The money they have raised through the fundraiser, will help the NHS trip that the club will be taking to Chicago later this Spring.
