On March 4, the Orange County Community Foundation’s Youth Council hosted their annual Golden Deeds ceremony.

The Golden Deeds event honors individuals from the community who exemplify selflessness within our community.

This year, of the ten nominees, two were teachers at Paoli. Honored by the OC Youth Council were Art Teacher Chris Jones and AVID Coordinator Tammy Noble.

Jones was nominated by junior Olivia McSpadden and Noble was nominated by Orleans High School senior Emily Dewitt.

“I was surprised to be nominated. I don’t feel like anything I do is all that special. I just want to see kids discover their talents and be successful in developing those talents. I am very honored to be chosen by Olivia. She is a fantastically creative and very driven student. And it means a lot to think that she appreciates what I do here at PHS,” said Jones.

Noble also shared the same experiences in being nominated for this award.

“This school year, I have gotten to know Emily through my photography team and was both surprised and honored that she chose me for the award. Emily is a very sweet and kind person so it meant a lot that she felt I was deserving of the award,” said Noble.
