With the end of the grading period approaching, some students may need to adjust their schedules for the second semester. The guidance office has specific requirements that must be met for students to make adjustments to their classes for the next semester.
Schedules are only changed for academic purposes. Request forms must be picked up from the guidance office and are available until January 6 of the semester. The process is relatively easy; forms must be completed, signed by a parent or guardian, and returned by the end of the day on January 7. Courses to fulfil a career pathway cannot be dropped or changed. Students may be placed into a career pathway course as needed to meet graduation requirements.
Students often need a schedule change for academic reasons to ensure they are on the right track to graduate. Other reasons include if students have a duplicate class on their schedule, such as two study halls or two English classes.
“We would love for students to be double-checking their second-semester schedules now and submitting any schedule change requests before Christmas Break. This will ensure that everything goes smoothly when we start back in January,” said Guidance Counselor Katrina Brace.
It is essential to know that the earlier students fill out the form, the better their chances of getting into the class.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to any of the guidance counselors.
