“Younger” is a fun and smart show that makes people never want to stop watching.
It first came out in 2015 and ran until 2021.
All seven seasons are now on Netflix. It is very popular because it talks about real-life problems in a funny and heartwarming way.
The story is about Liza Miller, played by Sutton Foster, a 40-year-old mom who is starting over after her divorce. She wants to work in the publishing industry again, but people think she is too old, so she makes the bold decision to pretend to be 26 to get a job.
Liza’s life changes when she meets Josh, a young tattoo artist played by Nico Tortorella, who thinks Liza is actually in her 20s.
Liza gets a job working for a tough boss named Diana Trout, played by Miriam Shor, and becomes best friends with a young coworker named Kelsey Peters, who is played by Hilary Duff.
As she gets closer to them, it gets harder for Liza to keep her secret, especially when she starts to like her other boss, Charles Brooks. This was a surprising twist in the show.
One of the best things about the show is the fashion and the fast-paced setting of New York City. Working in a high-end publishing house means the characters are always dressed in amazing outfits, and the city itself feels like a main character; the show highlights the contrasts between the underground work of Brooklyn, where Josh lives, and the corporate world of Manhattan, where Charles and Diana work.
Watching Liza navigate these two different worlds really makes the viewers think about how much society judges people based on their age and how, at the end of the day, a person’s age does not make them unqualified or unfit.
What I love most about “Younger” is how it feels like the story and problems in Liza’s life are real, but the show is still funny.
It is rated TV-14 and handles big topics very well. You can really relate to Liza when she tries to balance her two lives and keep everyone, including herself, happy. The characters are great and have flaws that make them seem like real people you want to succeed. Some parts of the show are sad, but there are always plenty of jokes to make you smile. This show isn’t just about a girl’s life; it is about finding yourself again and knowing it is never too late to follow your dreams.
If you want something that is easy to watch but also has a lot of heart, I highly recommend watching “Younger”.
