The Lady Rams kicked off their season on Thursday November 3 against Northeast Dubois.

For two seniors, their basketball career is far from over.

Senior Ryleigh Anderson and Jackie Crews plan to further their basketball career in college.

Anderson plans on playing college basketball for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Anderson started off by mailing letters to colleges she was looking at. Her mom, Kimberly, also helped by sending film to colleges as well.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods offered Anderson a scholarship that paid for her tuition during the summer of her junior year.

The original coach who offered her the scholarship, no longer works at the school, but the second coach was equally pleased with Anderson’s performance and followed through with her scholarship.

Anderson has had trouble finding other schools that have her preferred major, but finally settled on Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

She plans on majoring in Music Therapy. She was accepted into their music and music therapy program on October 14 of this year.

She committed to play for the Pomeroys on Monday, October 24.

“I chose Saint Mary-of-the-Woods because they have music therapy as a major, which most colleges near me don’t have. I also chose this college because they offered me a scholarship to play there my junior year,” said Anderson.

Anderson hopes for a wonderful college experience and is looking forward to furthering her career.

Crews plans on playing college basketball for Indiana Tech.

Over the summer, the head coach and assistant coach came and watched Crews at various games.

Crews wanted to be committed to a college before basketball season.

Crews then looked over each school who offered her a spot and ultimately decided on Indiana Tech. They offered her a scholarship to pay for tuition, which factored into her choice.

She committed to Indiana Tech in August of this year. She also plans to major in psychology and criminology.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to play at the next level and build new relationships. I also am excited to make memories that will last a lifetime,” said Crews.
