“Christ with Coffee on Ice” is a faith-centered podcast with host Ally Yost. It focuses on vulnerability, hope, scripture, and discussions of faith and life with the mission to spread God’s love and encouragement and to have listeners connect with Jesus. Yost releases a new episode every Friday with her signature iced coffee. As well as being an inspiring podcast, reviews speak for themselves with a 4.9-star rating and many positive words.
An episode that specifically spoke to me was “You’re Believing Lies About Yourself,” released on October 24. This episode was centered around the verse Galatians 2:20 (My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me). It takes an in-depth perspective on the negative things you believe about yourself that crowd your mind and make you forget that you were made in Christ’s beautiful image and are loved so deeply that his Son gave his life for you. I highly recommend this episode for anyone who struggles with self-image and having confidence in who they are and what God has planned for them.
Another episode I found helpful for me, and I recommend for others who walk in faith, is “How to Love Unbelievers,” released on October 3. This episode is inspired by the verse John 13:35 (By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another). It starts by explaining how the Lord truly works in our everyday lives and blesses us with true joy and compassion for others that can be seen and felt by those around us. When others begin to notice and ask you, that might be a good time to explain how God works in your life and the differences he has made for you. Yost goes on to explain about overstepping and over-explaining when it isn’t an appropriate time. She goes on to explain how Jesus sat with sinners, tax collectors, and those who were seen as unholy, and how he was a listener and truly loved all, from Pharisees to sinners. She closes by explaining that loving all is the true heart of discipleship.
Knowing that this is a Christianity-centered podcast, those who are not religious or do not believe in something would more than likely disagree with
the views or statements made. This is a podcast about Christ, so I would not recommend this podcast for anyone who is uncomfortable or doesn’t share the same beliefs.
However, this podcast is great for any believer, whether you’re new to your journey or are wise and educated in scripture. Yost does a fantastic job connecting with her audience and putting things in perspective throughout everyday faith. With putting that into perspective, this podcast has made my journey in my faith so much more than a religion. It’s made me be more comfortable with sharing my relationship with the Lord and all the light He has brought me.
Along with podcasts on Spotify, Yost’s platforms stretch to Instagram, Tiktok and YouTube as well as her website at allyyost.com. On her website, you can find a variety of things, such as her productions, contact information, and any merch, from her gorgeous crew-necks to her iconic coffee cups. “Christ with Coffee on Ice” has a little bit of something for everyone.
