‘The Life of a Showgirl’ is Taylor Swift’s twelfth studio album, released on October 3, 2025. Swift has started a new era with her music and brought us behind the scenes as a ‘showgirl’. With her new album out, people have mixed feelings about whether they like Swift’s new style of music or not.
In this pop album, her most popular songs are “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Opalite,” and “The Life of a Showgirl” (feat. Sabrina Carpenter). This album showcases the glamorous but difficult reality of fame, particularly for women. “The Life of a Showgirl” was written during her famous Eras Tour, focusing on the struggles she faced behind the scenes and in her private life.
Many people have complained about how this album is not a ‘normal’ Taylor Swift album. What I’ve seen is that people don’t like it because they compare it to her previous album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which deals more with heartbreak and past relationships. Personally, I loved this album!
I listened to this album the morning it came out on October 3. When I first listened, I didn’t know how I felt about it. It’s a very different style from Swift’s, but it was also… her. “The Life of a Showgirl” traces Swift’s growth in both her music career and personal life. As I listened to the album more, I loved it more and more. My three favorite songs from this album are “Ruin the Friendship,” “The Fate of Ophelia,” and “Actually Romantic”.
I am a big Swiftie, and I loved this album. I don’t understand why people hate this album and also Taylor Swift in general. “The Life of a Showgirl” has brought out a wide range of genres and styles in the music world. I liked how all the songs sounded and how Swift made it her own style. Now, is this Taylor’s best album? No, but it does shed new light on what fame does to a person and how it can affect people’s lives.
