If you want to add new music to your playlist, Mac Miller’s three latest song releases might be for you. Mac Miller’s three new songs, “Royal Flush,” “Cable Box,” and “Carpe Diem,” were released on October 24, 2025, as part of the 10th-anniversary edition of his album “GO:OD AM,” along with a short film to accompany the album’s anniversary titled Time Flies: Try to Catch It. Miller passed away in 2018 from an accidental overdose at the age of 26.
“GO:OD AM” was initially released on September 18, 2015. On Sept. 18 of this year, Mac Miller’s estate released a 15-minute documentary about the making of the LP. LP stands for “long play” and refers to a full-length album.
“GO:OD AM” achieved RIAA Gold certification for selling 500,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in 2018. It also received the “Must Listen” audience award from Album of the Year in 2025.
Royal Flush describes Mac Miller’s career through the lens of a game of poker. A “royal flush” represents the highest possible hand in a poker game, symbolizing Miller’s own success through risk-taking, while other players fold and give up. My favorite line from this song is “Why’d they shuffle the deck? They don’t cut me a card, but they cut me a check”. This line shows that not many people like him for the fame that he has gained, but their hate still makes him money.
Cable box is about balancing newfound fame and success with a love for his simple, pre-fame life. Telling a story about how he reflects on the journey from humble beginnings to success, highlighting the struggles and changes that come with it. My Favorite line from this song is “My head up, I keep goin’ They thinkin’ I should slow up Explode, I been shakin’ up the soda.” This line shows that people think Mac is moving too fast, letting fame get to his head, but he just wants to spread his life through music.
Carpe Diem is about living in the moment, finding authentic freedom, and embracing life’s chaos. “The music I can fix you with the music. Do you feel what’s in the music?” This shows how Mac wants to express himself and help others do the same through music.
Of the three newest song releases, “Carpe Diem” has the most listens, with Royal Flush being my personal favorite. What’s your favorite?
