Mr. PHS, a widely loved activity, is set to return to PHS on Tuesday, March 10. This event will be held in the Uyesugi Auditorium and begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door the night of the event.
Mr. PHS is an event that raises money for prom planning by bringing senior boys together for a bit of friendly competition. The first Mr. PHS was held in 2013, and has been an annual tradition at PHS. The coaches and sponsors from groups across the school chose a team or group member to represent them. The seniors will do an activity to show the judges why they should win. This year, 10 senior boys will participate, each with their own coordinator.
The participants for this event are: Tyler Hannon, representing PHS Football, his coordinator is Maddie Vernon; Cooper Spires, representing PHS Baseball, his coordinator is Tariana Burkhead; Kolt Bonta, representing PHS Wrestling, and his coordinator is Ava Hall; Kentlee Scholl, representing JAG, his coordinator is Claire Strotman; Dakota Mousty, representing the Paolite, his coordinator is Tayla Bolin; Kirkland Hughes, representing PHS Media, his coordinator is Libby Newkirk; Chad Sullivan, representing PHS Basketball, his coordinator is Audrey Hall; Kade Walls, representing PHS Track, his coordinator is Aurora Hays; Cannon Lambdin, representing PHS Drama, his coordinator is Kayla Barnett; and JaCoby Piper, representing PHS Band, and his coordinator is Junior Ava Middleton.
Junior Class Sponsors Chris Jones and Summer Hudelson are planning this event and Prom along with the Junior Class representatives: President Cheyenne Hopper, Vice President Kina Arsenault, Secretary Ada McSpadden, and Treasurer Addilyn Payton.
“I think this year’s Mr. PHS will be one of the best we’ve had. This year’s senior boys are a fun group of kids,” said Jones.
The event is coordinated by the Junior Class, led by President Cheyenne Hopper.
“I believe Mr. PHS this year will go well, we have some very interesting candidates. I am excited to see all of their talents. I believe that the work from Mr. Jones, Mrs. Hudelson, and all of the class officers will most definitely be paid off,” said Hopper.
