The Career Fair has become an annual event at PHS, and the next one is on Wednesday, April 15. Career Coach and PHS Business Teacher Sarah Parks’s business class is involved in planning this event.
“Our business class will be assisting with our upcoming College and Career Fair, which will be held on April 15th in the lower gym from 9:00–11:00 AM for students in grades 9–12,” said Career Coach and PHS Business Teacher Sarah Parks.
Typically, Sarah Parks and Danelle Manship usually plan the event, but this year, students are helping out.
“This is the first year our business class has participated in helping with the event, and it has been a great experience for them to connect with businesses and colleges. We definitely plan to continue involving students in the future,” said Parks.
The students who are participating in planning this event are: Colton Baechle, Kegan Buhr, Bryson Burkhead, Lily Chavez, Shiann Dunn, Lydia Fulkerson, Payton Gammon, Zayda Gilbert, Tyler Hannon, Cheyenne Hopper, Jenna Livingston, Joseph Miller, Dane Padgett, Abigail Poe, Hunter Settle, Lucas Shinkle, Tripp Spencer, Aubrey Staggs, Kyann Stephens, Chad Sullivan, and Zaden Taylor.
“These students have been working hard to help promote the event and connect with a variety of businesses and colleges. Each student has played an important role and is now focusing on marketing efforts to ensure a successful event,” said Parks.
Each student gains insightful experience from helping.
“They are helping as part of a real-world, hands-on learning experience connected to their business coursework. This allows them to apply what they’ve been learning—such as marketing, communication, and event planning—in a meaningful way,” said Parks.
Overall, planning and helping with this event provides a great experience and is an exciting project for the class.
“It has been wonderful to see the excitement and engagement from these students throughout this project,” said Parks.
